Is the sentence im didnt sleep well right? When using did as an auxiliary or helper verb to form the past tense, it is used with the bare infinitive of the verb in question, the lexical verb. I can't seem to follow the logic.

They didn't start yet is the negative form of the simple past, they started. in the positive form it. I noticed multiple times, when writing in microsoft word that the program suggests a correction, from either form to the other. Or i should say i havent sleep today well?
